Bean Soup

I've made bean soup again. The last batch wasn't that great, but not that many of you tried it. Hopefully this one will be better. Come on over if you'd like a bowl with a slice of buttered bread. :-)
P.S. I am still pretty sick.

Cooking with Starzipan

I still haven't gotten any batteries for my camera, so there's no pictures, but I promise you, Ben and I made Pad Thai tonight from the recipe in the Joy of Cooking. It was delicious but different from most Pad Thai we had had before. I think I'll try a different recipe next time, and go to the Asian Market on Harrison instead of Safeway. Also, Hannah stopped by and helped us eat it. More like, Hannah and I helped Ben eat most of it. He is terrifying when he eats.
I'm still sick but I think I'll be well enough to go to class tomorrow. Ceramics! I'm behind and missed Tuesday's class so I gotta make it!
Soon, Hannah and I will go to a special yarn store she has discovered. I can't remember the name of it. I have big plans to get yarn to make a hat and to make a scarf for Ben. I need to go to Joann's again soon to get another skein of the green yarn I've been making another scarf with. Meanwhile, I've been tediously adding fringe to my first scarf.
Also, I'm out of baked goods. Soon I will bake again.

Illness

I am once again very sick. Ben has infected me with his illness, resulting in exhaustion, aching all over, sore throat, and general blah feeling. Stupid sickness.
But last night was our one-year anniversary and it was lovely. He gave me a sweatshirt from the bookstore I've been eying for months and I got him flowers and chocolate ;-).
To sum up: I am sick but in love.

Knitting

Hannah taught me how to knit! I've been knitting like mad. This is the scarf I've been working on. I just got a second skein of yarn today so I can continue, I had to stop yesterday because I ran out! It's looking really nice, I love the colors. :-D I wanna learn how to make hats next. My mom found the needles I grabbed from Granny's years ago and among them were two circular needles, as well as all the regular ones being metal, so they won't break like the stupid plastic ones I bought. Ok, that makes it sound like they snapped in half, just the tip of one of them cracked off when I was knitting with this other yarn that was probably too thick for the little size sixes.
And no, I am not taking orders yet, I'm not even done with my first scarf and want to learn how to make a bunch of stuff first. I will let you all know when I'm ready to take requests for birthday and Christmas presents.
Also, Hannah and I made a bunch of Valentine's cookies yesterday, to hand out to our friends and loved ones. It was quite enjoyable and we're getting together on Wednesday to make up little gift baggies.
